White Rock’s emergency responders are gearing up to showcase their time and expertise to the public, at their annual open house event, set for June 10.
Organizers say the Emergency Responders Open House will be “bigger and better than previous years,” with at least 30 other first responder and support agencies participating.
Planned for the 15300-block of Pacific Avenue, as well as in the laneway between White Rock City Hall and the city’s emergency-response campus, the open house will launch at 9 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and continue till 3 p.m. with activities and information.

Participants lined up for the day include the Police Dog Service, Cops for Cancer riders, BNSF, Search and Rescue, Pacific Assistance Dogs Society and ICBC.
Fundraising aspects include a bake sale with proceeds to Cops for Cancer, and a BBQ with net proceeds to benefit Semiahmoo Community Safety Society initiatives.
Pacific Avenue – which fronts the RCMP detachment and the White Rock fire hall – is to be closed between Fir and Center Streets for the occasion.
