SIOUX CENTER—A 33-year-old Sioux Center man was arrested about 8:15 p.m. Sunday, April 6, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence and failure to use headlamps when required.

The arrest of Angel De Jesus Mojica-Vazquez stemmed from the stop of a 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for failure for use of headlights when required on First Avenue Southwest near Eighth Street in Sioux Center, according to the Sioux Center Police Department.

Mojica-Vazquez had bloodshot/watery eyes, impaired balance and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed field sobriety tests.

He admitted to consuming several alcoholic beverages before leaving Sioux City, according to the incident report.
