Police still searching for attempted murder suspect in East Knoxville shooting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department said officers are searching for a suspect in a shooting in East Knoxville.

According to KPD, Willie Tolbert, 42, of Knoxville is wanted for two counts of attempted first-degree murder, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and additional weapon charges.

Around 6:50 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, KPD officers responded to an alley behind a home in the 2300 block of Brooks Avenue. Tolbert allegedly fired multiple rounds at two other men, according to police. Neither was hit.

After the shooting, Tolbert drove off in a black Mercedes with Washington state tags, according to KPD.
