Sheriff: 16-year-old dead after being ejected from truck during crash in Indiana

A 16-year-old has died after a crash in southeast Indiana Thursday.
It happened around 4:33 p.m. when deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene of a crash in the 5000 block of Highland Center Road.
The sheriff's office said an investigation revealed the 16-year-old driver was traveling south on Highland Center Road when his pick-up truck went off the side of the roadway.
Officials said the teen then overcorrected, causing the pickup to cross the road and go off the road and over an embankment. The pickup truck rolled several times, ejecting the teen.
The teen was pronounced dead while on the way to the hospital.
The sheriff's office said the teen driver was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash is still under investigation.
