Authorities are urging residents in Victoria’s central-west to monitor the conditions after fire crews lost control of a planned burn near Daylesford.

The fire, near Old Tom Track in Hepburn Regional Park, about 4 kilometres south-west of Daylesford, started as a planned burn on Thursday and was declared a bushfire on Friday.

A Watch and Act warning was issued on Saturday afternoon for Sailors Hill, Sailors Falls and Musk Vale.

Residents were told to prepare to leave, but this warning was slightly downgraded on Saturday night, with residents instead told to "monitor conditions".

The fire has burnt 90 hectares and was not under control, authorities said.

More than 100 personnel have been deployed, including firefighting aircraft and ground crews.

The bushfire is travelling from Black Jack Track south-east towards Sailors Hill.
