MY LIFE BACK. A RED FLAG WARNING ISSUED EARLIER TODAY HAS BEEN LIFTED, BUT CREWS WERE BUSY RESPONDING TO FIRES ACROSS THE STATE, FUELED BY HIGH WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY. LET’S START IN LITCHFIELD. MULTIPLE DEPARTMENTS RESPONDED TO A BRUSH FIRE NEAR CORTLAND AVE. SOME PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THAT NEIGHBORHOOD SAY THEY GOT HOME FROM AN EASTER CELEBRATION AND NOTICED SMOKE AND FLAMES MOVING TOWARD THEIR HOUSE. WE HAD COME HOME. ANY LATER, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE. COME HOME EARLIER. WE PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN SITTING IN THE HOUSE AND NOT EVEN KNOWING WHAT WAS GOING ON, AND WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED THEN, IT’S EVEN WORSE. SO YEAH, WE’RE PRETTY FORTUNATE. And who knows what would have happened then, even worse. We're pretty fortunate," Davis Slaalien said.It is unclear how the fire started.
