National Volunteer Week spotlight on Butler County Rescue Squad
MORGANTOWN, Ky. – In honor of National Volunteer Week, we want to spotlight a local group we’ve told you about in the past that has done incredible work for their community.
The Butler County Rescue Squad handles all the water rescues in the county that we’ve seen from recent flooding.
The majority of teams like theirs are one hundred percent volunteer based, so any help they can get from the community is a huge boost to making sure countless lives are saved… and even though the community may not notice it as much, the work they do is incredibly important.
“The stuff we do, it’s a big impact for our community because we actually make their bad days better when we can assist them and make their days better from rescuing whatever type of incident is going on with them or their family,” chief Brandon Keown says.
The chief says they’re grateful for the community’s support of the team, and are honored to help the community during their worst times.
