Luxembourg police have reported a series of criminal incidents overnight, including a violent mugging in Hollerich and multiple incidents of drink-driving.

In their latest bulletin, Luxembourg police reported a number of thefts and drink-driving cases.

Robberies and thefts

A mugging occurred in Hollerich on Friday evening at around 8pm. Preliminary reports indicate that two unidentified assailants pushed a victim to the ground, stole their watch, and fled the scene. The injured party was transported to hospital for examination. Police have opened an investigation.

Several pickpocketing incidents were also reported in Luxembourg City near the central railway station that afternoon. Victims lost a mobile phone in two separate cases, while another had their keys stolen. In a related incident, a phone was taken from an unlocked lorry. Additionally, an electric scooter and a bicycle were reported stolen in the city that evening.

Drink-driving

Shortly before 4.30am, police intercepted a vehicle on the A1 motorway slip road toward Trier after the driver nearly collided with other cars. A sobriety test confirmed alcohol impairment, resulting in an immediate licence suspension and legal proceedings.

Further drink-driving incidents led to licence suspensions in Clausen (Luxembourg City) and another location on the A1.
