PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said that a stolen Swansea Fire Department ambulance was recovered in the city.

Swansea police said that the ambulance was reported stolen during a medical call around 12:30 a.m.

The ambulance was found in the area of Broadway and Atwells Avenue around 1 a.m., and was taken by an elderly man who was in a “state of confusion.”

Providence police said Rhode Island State Police were in charge of the incident, and the Swansea Fire Department recovered their vehicle.
