Woman hurt in Birmingham cashpoint robbery as police launch picture appeal

A woman was injured in a cashpoint robbery in Birmingham.

The victim suffered a broken finger and cuts to her hands in the attack after she had withdrawn money on Aston Lane in Aston.


West Midlands Police have issued a picture of a man officers want to trace.

The force has now launched an appeal for information.

No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.

In a statement, police said: "We would like to speak to this man following an attempted robbery in Aston.


"A woman had gone to withdraw money from a cash point on Aston Lane when a man tried to take the money from her hands.

"This led to injuries to her hands including cuts and a broken finger.

"He ran off when a member of the public intervened.

"The incident took place on 11 February.
