RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) โ The West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in the Beckley area of Raleigh County. The checkpoint will be set up along U.S. Route 19, approximately 0.1 mile south of the intersection with West Virginia Route 41 (Johnstown Road). It will be in operation from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and to educate the public about the dangers and consequences of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Authorities are encouraging the public to assist in preventing drunk and drug-impaired driving by reporting suspected impaired drivers to their local West Virginia State Police detachment, Crime Stoppers of West Virginia, or any other law enforcement agency.
