A one-year-old girl has died after a collision at a Welsh camping site. North Wales Police said they received a 999 call at 10.20am reporting a collision involving a one-year-old girl and a vehicle at Bryn Gloch caravan and camping site in Betws Garmon.

Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance, were sent to the scene and the child was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool. Despite the best efforts of medical teams, the child died in hospital this afternoon. The Coroner has been informed.

Sergeant Simon Hughes of the Roads Crime Unit said: "We extend our sympathies to the girl’s family during this difficult time.

"They are now being supported by a specially trained Family Liaison Officer.

"The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing, and I would like to thank everyone who assisted at the scene today."

North Wales Police said no further details could be released yet.

Bryn Gloch's website describes it as "a family-friendly and pet-friendly site located at the base of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) along the banks of the river Gwyrfai" which offers "stunning views of Snowdonia (Eryri) National Park".

A spokesman said: "We are greatly saddened by the tragic incident which occurred at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping site on 28th April 2025. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the family and all those affected by this devastating event.

"The safety and wellbeing of our guests are of utmost importance to us, and we will be giving our full co-operation to the authorities involved with the investigation of this matter.”
