Hart County juvenile exits school bus, later found in Ohio

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – On Sunday, a missing Hart County juvenile was located in Ohio.
The Hart County Sheriff’s Office says a male juvenile student at Hart County High School boarded a bus exiting school property on Tuesday, April 29. The juvenile exited the school bus at a scheduled stop at Munfordville Elementary. Witnesses say the juvenile walked in the direction of US 31W.
HCSO says the juvenile’s cell phone was pinged through Kentucky State Police 911 Dispatch.
The ping indicated the juvenile was at KY 88 and Craddock Road.
HCSO made contact with the juvenile by phone. The juvenile said he was in the wooded area behind Munfordville Elementary School. HCSO says evidence found in the investigation indicated the juvenile was not in the area.
A search was conducted, and the juvenile was not located.
HSCO entered the juvenile’s information into the LINK/NCIC database as a missing/runaway.
HCSO says the juvenile’s phone was turned on and off, and a location could not be determined.
On Sunday, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office was notified that the juvenile was in Eaton, Ohio.
Police officers contacted the juvenile and informed him that he was entered as missing.
The juvenile was held in Eaton, and his parents were notified.
The juvenile was returned safely to Hart County.
