Kildare town Community First Responders have launched a fundraiser in an effort to acquire new equipment.
In the description of the fundraiser, which is live on GoFundMe, the group explained: "We set up in 2016 and haven’t replaced any equipment or Public Access Defibs (PADs) to date.
"We have 12 PADs located around Kildare town and some are now coming to their end of life. It costs €1,000 euro for each one to be replaced, and also our training equipment needs to be updated."
The group continued: "We are asking the public for their help as we are completely self funded and rely on donations to keep this life saving group running.
"All members fully volunteer their time free of charge and are on call 24/7 365 days a year."
"We would like to thank all of our community for their support to date," the group concluded.
The fundraiser has a €1,600 goal, and as of time of publication, has raised €1,200.
Kildare town Community First Responders are a registered charity (No. 20205849).
