SIOUX FALLS — Police in Sioux Falls are investigating after a Monday evening shooting left one man injured.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 5, police in Sioux Falls were called to a local hospital for a report of a gunshot victim.

Police spokesman Sam Clemens said a man had been shot in the leg. The extent of his injuries were not released.

The shooting is believed to have occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 5900 block of South Graystone Avenue, near the intersection of 69th Street and Sycamore Avenue.

Clemens said investigators aren’t sure what led up to the shooting, but that authorities are “tracking down” some names for additional information. He added that it seems as though there was a connection between the victim and suspect, but declined further comment.
