Charleston, WV (WOAY)-A Georgia man has pleaded guilty to federal firearm charges following a multi-state police pursuit that ended in Charleston.
42-year-old Jeremiah Clinton Gray, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, entered a guilty plea for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to court documents, on July 22, 2024, law enforcement responded to reports of an armed man wearing body armor and a badge inside a Jackson County, Ohio, business.
That suspect, later identified as Gray, fled the scene in a vehicle with no license plate, sparking a police chase that crossed state lines into West Virginia.
With help from spike strips, officers stopped the vehicle in Charleston.
Gray was arrested, and police recovered a loaded 9mm Taurus pistol on his person and a loaded Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun inside the vehicle.
Gray is prohibited from owning firearms due to a prior felony conviction for cocaine trafficking in federal court months earlier, in October 2023.
He now faces up to 15 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.
Sentencing is set for August 12.
