(9 A.M. UPDATE) The State of Emergency in Jordan has been lifted, officials announced Wednesday morning.

Village of Jordan Mayor Casey Brim said the State of Emergency was initially declared Tuesday evening when Skaneateles Creek began to crest due to heavy rainfall.

Residents along Valley Drive, Vale Street, Elbridge Street, Chappell Street, Mechanic Street and Railroad Street began to experience flooding in their homes. Streets were also washed out. Mayor Brim noted that several fire departments assisted with evacuating people out of their homes.

Brim said all village streets are passable as of 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. However, there is a "significant amount" of debris along the shoulders of roads and the sidewalks. People are asked to use caution when traveling.

Anyone who has experienced significant damage to their homes are asked to contact the Jordan Village Office at 315-689-7350 so it may be documented for potential FEMA assistance.
