An ambulance crashed into a north Mississippi hospital.

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (WTVA) — An ambulance crashed into a north Mississippi hospital.

This happened Wednesday morning, May 7 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven, WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee, reported.

Authorities reported minor injuries.

Someone possibly stole the ambulance, and police took one person into custody.

Police later identified the suspect as Kandanice Stevenson, who faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer and felony taking of a motor vehicle.

“There was a collision that resulted in damage to our emergency department,” the hospital announced. “All patients, visitors and staff are safe. We are assessing damage to the emergency department and requesting any ambulance traffic be sent to other hospitals at this time, but no other building operations have been affected.”
