5-vehicle crash on Hong Kong highway injures 6, causes temporary lane closures
Six passengers, drivers sustain slight injuries in crash involving three private cars, two trucks, police say

Five vehicles crashed into each other on one of Hong Kong’s busiest highways on Thursday, leaving six people injured and all lanes bound for urban areas closed temporarily.
Police said the two passengers and four drivers sustained injuries in the crash that involved three private cars and two trucks on Tolo Highway in Tai Po at 11.30am.
The force said two of the cars had slowed down but one of the trucks, a medium goods vehicle, was unable to stop in time.
“[The truck] turned right, hitting and pushing one private car into the other,” police said.
“The medium goods vehicle continued to hit another private car and a light goods vehicle. That private car then collided with the roadside barrier, while the light goods vehicle crashed into the body of the medium goods vehicle.”
The force said the 42-year-old driver of the car that hit the barrier was temporarily trapped before being rescued.
The injured, aged between 39 and 61, suffered neck pain or bruises on their heads and hands. They were sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in Sha Tin.
