The police made multiple arrests for public intoxication and drink driving during Wednesday evening operations, including incidents in Mersch, Schifflange, and along the N7.
Luxembourg police detained several pedestrians and motorists for alcohol-related incidents on Wednesday evening, according to the latest bulletin.
The first incident occurred at around 4pm when authorities intercepted a vehicle driving erratically between Gonderange and Junglinster. The motorist showed clear signs of alcohol consumption, confirmed by a positive breathalyser test, resulting in immediate licence confiscation.
At around 7.30pm in Mersch, officers responded to reports of an individual urinating in public and trying to open car doors along Rue de Colmar-Berg. Police found the visibly intoxicated person who refused to cooperate with officers. Due to their behaviour disturbing public order and posing a danger to themselves and others, authorities took the individual into custody.
Shortly after, at 8pm in Schifflange, police were alerted about an intoxicated person lying outside a bar. Officers located the individual who subsequently became aggressive during the encounter, leading to their arrest.
The evening's incidents concluded with another drink driving case at 10.45pm on the N7 near Hosingen, where police stopped a vehicle after observing it driving erratically. This driver also tested positive for alcohol intoxication and had their driving licence revoked.
