Man wanted in connection with 2024 Portland shooting turns himself in to police

PORTLAND, Maine (WABI) - A man wanted for assault following an incident in Portland has turned himself in to authorities, the U.S. Marshals Office said Thursday.
U.S. Marshals say Kristofer Haken, 46, surrendered to New Hampshire Probation and Parole on Wednesday, about 24 hours after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Haken was wanted for his involvement in a shooting incident in Portland last July that left one person dead and three injured.
Authorities say Haken was a fugitive for six months, evading law enforcement after a November arrest warrant from the Portland Police Department for conspiracy to commit elevated aggravated assault and two counts of elevated aggravated assault.
Haken was taken to a New Hampshire jail and will be sent back to Maine to face his federal and state charges.
