Trio of first responders honored for saving teen’s life

Three first responders from Amsterdam are receiving a special honor for their life-saving efforts.

The annual Life Saving Award was presented to Police Officer Brian Dixon, Police Officer Corey Rust and

Deputy Chief Salvatore Megna for their efforts to help an unresponsive 17-year-old during an asthma attack, last year.

Police conference of New York said their quick thinking and intervention saved the young man’s life.

The officers received the award during the Police Conference of New York meeting in Albany.
