Vermont police locate vehicles in Pownal hit-and-run

Pownal, VT (WRGB) — UPDATE 5/8/2025: The Vermont State Police have identified the vehicles and operators involved in the recent crash, though the investigation remains active and ongoing.

Vermont State Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two vehicles and their operators in connection with a hit-and-run incident that resulted in serious injuries. The crash occurred around 6:35 AM. Thursday in Pownal.

Video footage obtained by investigators shows two vehicles in the vicinity of U.S. Route 7 and Vermont Route 346 at the time of the incident. The vehicles are described as a white Chevrolet Silverado and a white Volkswagen sedan, possibly a Passat or a Jetta, with unknown license plates.

Authorities said both vehicles were traveling southbound on U.S. Route 7 and were last seen crossing into Massachusetts on North Hoosac Road, heading toward North Adams.

The Vermont State Police urge anyone with information about the vehicles or their operators to come forward as the investigation continues.
