Oberlin Patrol Officer Billie Neadham had been with the department for over 18 years and and also served as the School Resource Officer for Oberlin City Schools.

He was very involved in the community and besides leading the Police Explorers Program since 2010, he managed Safety Town and Shop with a Cop.

Due to his long-standing relationship with the Oberlin City Schools, the district has arranged for grief counseling for students and staff.

“Officer Neadham was more than a law enforcement officer—he was a trusted mentor, a positive role model, and a caring presence in our schools. He built strong and supportive relationships with students, families, and staff, always leading with compassion and integrity. His commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students made a lasting impact that will not be forgotten," posted Oberlin City Schools on Facebook.

City officials posted on Facebook they would share more information when it became available, but, at this time, they “join the Oberlin Police Department and the Oberlin community in mourning this incredible loss and send our deepest sympathies to Officer Neadham’s family and all those who knew him.”
