One local nonprofit to donate $10,000 to the Butte Strong First Responder Wellness Unit

CHICO, Calif. — Swing Fore Cesar, a local nonprofit, is donating $10,000 to the Butte Strong First Responder Wellness Unit. This donation coincides with National Police Week and aims to support local law enforcement and community wellness.

The funds were raised during the recent Swing Fore Cesar Golf Tournament. The donation will be divided equally among five peer support programs within Butte County's public safety agencies.

The agencies include:

• Butte County Sheriff’s Department

• Chico Police Department

• Chico State Police Department

• Paradise Police Department

• Butte County Probation Department

Each agency will receive $2,000. The funds will aid their peer support efforts, providing essential spaces for personnel to connect and process challenges.

The donation event will take place on Friday, May 16, at the Chico Community Service Center. starting at 10 a.m. Representatives from Swing Fore Cesar and the Butte Strong First Responder Wellness Unit will attend.

The event falls during National Police Week, established in 1962 by President Kennedy to honor law enforcement officers. Swing Fore Cesar is a nonprofit that focuses on supporting the mental and emotional well-being of officers in Butte County.
