Miranda on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives
Disney/Pamela Littky.

Just when you thought The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives couldn’t get messier, Season 2 introduced another wife from Taylor Frankie Paul’s swinging scandal: Miranda McWhorter.

Miranda, who was an original member of Taylor’s MomTok group, is the newest cast member on Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. But while she’s new to the show, she isn’t necessarily new to the group, having known MomTok members like Whitney Leavitt, Mayci Neeley, and Mikayla Matthews since at least 2022 when the core MomTok gang officially started.

But while Miranda is a cast member on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, her husband, Chase McWhorter, only made a cameo as Taylor and Miranda exposed the trio’s swinging past. The drama led to an explosive fight in Season 2, Episode 2 and Episode 3 that led to Chase getting kicked out of a party and the police being called on the cast. So who is Miranda’s husband and where is he now? Read on for what we know ahead.

Who is Miranda’s ex-husband from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?

Miranda’s ex-husband is Chase McWhorter, a sales executive who currently works for the tech company Neighbor in Lehi, Utah, according to his Linkedin. Miranda and Chase, who is two years older than Miranda, revealed in a YouTube video in 2022 that they met just after Miranda graduated from high school. The two met after Chase returned home from a two-year LDS mission and slid into Miranda’s Instagram DMs. They made their Instagram debut in 2016 and married in 2017 after one year of dating. Miranda was 20 years old at the time, while Chase was 22.

The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Brooks Wesley McWhorter, in September 2019. “Brooks Wesley McWhorter💙,” Miranda wrote on Instagram at the time. “He made his grand entrance September 7th at 6:13 pm. 8 lbs 13 oz 21in. The amount of love we feel for this tiny human is indescribable💙.” Their second child, a daughter named Cohen Roo McWhorter, was born two years later in October 2021.

“Cohen Roo McWhorter🤍,” Miranda on Instagram at the time. “8lbs 10oz, 19 inches of perfection. My heart just doubled in size🥺 we are so in love with you baby Coco💕.”

A year after their second child was born, Chase and Miranda were implicated in the MomTok swinging scandal when Miranda’s Secret Lives of Mormon Wives co-star, Taylor Frankie Paul, revealed that she had split from her then-husband, Tate Paul, after she broke the rules of their “soft-swinging” arrangement by “catching feelings” for a friend’s husband, who was believed to be Chase at the time. (Taylor denied Chase was the husband she caught feelings for in a confessional during The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2, though she did claim that Chase caught feelings for her.)

After Taylor’s exposed MomTok’s swinging scandal, Chase and Miranda initially denied their involvement before Chase later came clean in an interview with Us Weekly in September 2024.

“It all started during Covid. … [It was] a bunch of our friends coming — couples — and then we’d all get trashed on alcohol and then, like, these games would come up,” he said at the time. “Spin the bottle or whatever.” He continued, “It was never predetermined that we were going to be doing, like, swinging. That’s what we always thought was a little bit misrepresented in Taylor’s story, as she presents it.” The interview came after Miranda announced in a TikTok video that she and Chase had split.

Where’s Miranda’s ex-husband now?

While Miranda starred on Season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Chase was only a guest. In his interview with Us Weekly, Chase revealed that he and Miranda were still on good terms despite their swinging drama. “I think we both realized that we’d gotten married a little prematurely, and that’s why our relationship still is pretty, good [now], like, we’re really cordial, really friendly,” he said. “[I] still chat with her a lot, whenever she drops the kids off, and vice versa. … I think it’s working out really well, and we’re kind of figuring out how to continue navigating that in a positive way.”

Chase also told the magazine that he saw “redeemable qualities” in Taylor despite her fallout with the couple. “It’s no coincidence that we were friends with her for the four years that we were,” he said. “She, like, is a cool person, and she is really fun. … I’m sure she’s changed and grown and, you know, probably made some adjustments, and that’s kind of what we’re all trying to do anyways.”

Five months after his split from Miranda, Chase announced on his Instagram post that he had a new girlfriend, blogger and recruiter Kate Racker. Chase went public with his new relationship with an Instagram album featuring multiple photos of him and Kate hugging. He captioned the post with a fiery heart emoji.

Kate, for her part, works as an executive recruiter for Recruiting Connection, a recruitment firm in Salt Lake City, Utah, according to her Linkedin. She graduated from Utah State University in 2017. Chase also attended Utah State University, as well as the University of Utah, per his Linkedin. Before his his current job at Neighbor, Chase worked as an Account Executive at the company Weave in 2024, a District Sales Manager at AdvancedMD from 2019 to 2023, and a Door to Door Sales Representative for ADT from 2015 to 2019.
