KAILUA-KONA (HawaiiNewsNow) - A bomb technician was called to a business in Kailua-Kona Wednesday after reports of a device resembling an unexploded grenade.

Officers established a perimeter around the 75-5700 block of Alii Drive and restricted access to the area.

After a thorough assessment, the technician determined the grenade was inert and it was safely removed for disposal, police said.

  • Do not touch or attempt to move it.
  • Immediately leave the area and call 911 to report the item to authorities. Provide as much detail as possible about the location and appearance of the device.
  • Stay at a safe distance and follow all instructions from emergency personnel.
