10 people arrested in alleged meth trafficking operation in Wisconsin and UP

Over several months, investigators identified several individuals involved in the sale and distribution of methamphetamine.

MARINETTE COUNTY, Wisc. (WLUC) - Ten people face felony drug charges after a several-months-long, multi-agency investigation into meth trafficking ring operating in and around Marinette County, Wisc.

According to a Monday press release from the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), in February, the Northeast Tri-County Drug Enforcement Group (NTCDE), led by the MCSO and the Marinette Police Department, opened an investigation into a methamphetamine drug trafficking organization (DTO) operating in Marinette County.

Over several months, investigators identified several individuals involved in the sale and distribution of methamphetamine. Between April 3o and May 2, investigators from NTCDE executed seven search warrants in relation to the investigation. In total, the warrants resulted in investigators seizing 413.53 grams of meth, two firearms, THC, fentanyl, drug paraphernalia, and $3,547 in U.S. currency.

The 10 people arrested as a result of the investigation are each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit delivery of methamphetamine greater than 50 grams, a class C felony punishable by up to 40 years in prison and/or fines of up to $100,000. Those 10 individuals are:

  • Bruce A. Cassady, 45, of Lena
  • Johnathan L. Block, 49, of Pound
  • John R. Hager, 33, of Grover
  • Crystal S. Barthel, 33, of Antigo
  • Scott M. Klatt, 47, of Menominee MI
  • Maya E. Lindsay, 23, of Marinette
  • Hunter L. Shehow, 23, of Peshtigo
  • Maggie M. Throm, 24, of Menominee MI
  • Nickolas J. Wood, 27, of Marinette

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by City of Marinette Police Department, Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, Menominee County (MI) Sheriff’s Office, City of Peshtigo Police Department, Dickinson County (MI) KIND Unit, City of Antigo Police Department, Marathon County Drug Unit, and Lake Winnebago Area MEG unit.
