Five pro-Palestine activists have been arrested after the filming of Gal Gadot’s new film in London was targeted because of her pro-Israel views.
Gadot, 39, an Israeli who served in the IDF, has previously voiced strong support for Israel’s invasion of Gaza following the October 7 Hamas attacks – a stance that has sparked outrage among pro-Palestinian campaigners.
In recent weeks, police say demonstrators have repeatedly targeted filming locations across the capital due to Gadot’s “Israeli nationality.”
In a statement the Met police said:
Gadot has repeatedly expressed support for Israel and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), stemming from her background as an Israeli citizen who completed mandatory military service.
Her public statements, particularly during periods of conflict, have drawn attention and sparked controversy.

In a 2014 Facebook post during Israel’s attack on Gaza, Gadot posted a photo of herself praying with her daughter with the caption: “I am sending my love and prayers to my fellow Israeli citizens. Especially to all the boys and girls who are risking their lives protecting my country against the horrific acts conducted by Hamas, who are hiding like cowards behind women and children…We shall overcome!!! Shabbat Shalom! #weareright #freegazafromhamas #stopterror #coexistance #loveidf.”
In an October 7, 2023 Instagram post following Hamas’s attack on Israel, Gadot wrote: “I stand with Israel you should too. The world cannot sit on the fence when these horrific acts of terror are happening!”
In a March 2025 Anti-Defamation League speech, Gadot addressed rising antisemitism and her support for Israel, stating: “I am proud to be Jewish and proud to be an Israeli. … However much you tried to avoid it before, even if speaking up wasn’t really your thing, none of us can ignore the explosion of Jew-hatred around the world anymore.”
She emphasised the need to speak out against Hamas’ actions on October 7, 2023, and advocated for the release of hostages, saying, “We have to bring them home.”
Palestinians and pro-Palestinian groups have called for boycotts against Gal Gadot due to her pro-Israel stance and past IDF service.
The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement has notably targeted her, particularly for her role in Disney’s Snow White remake, citing her vocal support for Israel’s actions.
Social media campaigns, such as those on X, have also urged boycotts of her films, with posts labeling her a “Zionist” and criticising her IDF involvement.
For example, a 2017 Lebanese campaign successfully banned Wonder Woman in Lebanon due to her Israeli background, and similar calls have persisted, including disruptions at her 2025 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
