Listen to this articleWhere the plaintiffs, two Michigan State Police Troopers, have filed a malicious prosecution/abuse of process suit against the defendant who served as a specialist first lieutenant in MSP’s Civil Litigation and Rock Management Section (CLRMS), the complaint must be dismissed with prejudice based on governmental immunity.
“Plaintiffs are Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers who were involved in the arrest of Jacob Long on August 24, 2022.
“They punched, tased, and pepper sprayed Long, and [plaintiff Cody] Lukas kicked Long while Long was on the ground. … This evidence demonstrates that [defendant Aimee] Brimacombe’s belief that charges should be filed was supported by evidence and was not pursued simply out of malice.”
