Several Northern Kentucky athletes win events in KHSAA Class 1A state track meet

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - While no Northern Kentucky team won the state title in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Class 1A state track meet that concluded on Thursday in Lexington, there were several individual event winners.

Here is a list of the Northern Kentucky individual event winners:

Girls 4x800 meter relay: Bishop Brossart (Larah Callahan, Alia Thomas, Peyton Trauth and Tessa Hafer

Boys 100 meter dash: Charlie Ford (Newport Central Catholic)

Girls 1,600 meter run: Lily Parke (Beechwood)

Boys 4x100 meter relay: Beechwood (Nathan Pabst, Brody Aylor, James Cusick, Luke Erdman)

Girls 400 meter dash: Caroline Nordman (Beechwood)

Girls 800 meter run: Lily Parke (Beechwood)

Boys 200 meter dash: Charlie Ford (Newport Central Catholic)

Girls 4x400 meter relay: Newport Central Catholic (Grace Mumper, Mary Kennedy, Kate Schirmer and Maggie West)

Girls Shot Put: Ava Walters (Bishop Brossart)

Girls Discus: Ava Walters (Bishop Brossart)

Boys Shot Put Wheelchair: Kayden Lynn (Newport)

Mixed Shot Put Unified: Travis Walters (Bracken County)

Boys' Discus Wheelchair: Kayden Lynn (Newport)


The top girls' team was Bishop Brossart, which finished as runner-up to champion Lexington Christian, and Beechwood finished third.

The top boys' team was Beechwood in fifth place, while Newport Central Catholic finished sixth. Louisville Collegiate won the team title.
