Man in Butler County accused of possessing 200+ videos, images depicting child sex abuse
A man from Butler County is accused of possessing over 200 images and videos depicting child sex abuse.
Aaron Joyce is facing charges of disseminating photos and videos containing the sexual abuse of children and possessing child sexual abuse material.
Pennsylvania State Police were notified by Internet Crimes against Children that files containing suspected child pornography were uploaded multiple times through the Kik messenger application in August of 2024.
During their investigation, police filed subpoenas to get the subscriber and billing information from the account.
That information revealed the subscriber as Crestfield Camp and Conference Center on Taggert Road in Slippery Rock.
According to officials, 50-year-old Joyce had access to the WiFi at the camp and looked like a man in explicit images that were found on accounts.
Joyce was a former housekeeper at the camp who last worked with the organization on May 16, 2025.
According to a complaint, search warrants were filed for two locations connected to Joyce.
When Joyce was interviewed by police he allegedly denied being on any social media or pornography websites. Officials say they did not get a chance to discuss the search warrant before Joyce said "I didn't do this," to his wife as he walked out.
According to a criminal complaint, Joyce's wife said she did not know the extent of her husband's pornography addiction and was able to identify herself and others in photos presented by police.
Police said through their investigation they found over 200 videos and images of child sexual abuse that were either sent or received from Joyce's multiple accounts.
The camp has since released a following statement on the arrest:
"At Crestfield Camp and Conference Center, the safety and well-being of all participants, particularly the children and youth who attend our programs, is our highest priority.
We have been made aware of a legal matter involving a former housekeeper, who has not worked with us since May 16, 2025.
We have been assured that the legal matter does not involve any Crestfield participants, staff, or programs.
Crestfield remains fully committed to the trust placed in us by families, churches, and our broader community. Our child protection policies are comprehensive, regularly reviewed, and rigorously enforced. We will continue to review and enforce those policies."
