Friday afternoon update:
Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden has released the identity of the driver who was killed in a crash this morning.
The victim was identified as Robert J. Wilson, 60, of Danville.
Mr. Wilson's family has been notified and an autopsy was scheduled for this morning.
Illinois State Police and the McFadden's office continue to investigate.
DANVILLE — An early-morning head-on crash on U.S. 150 west of Danville has left one driver dead and another injured, Illinois State Police said.
Police said at 1:31 a.m., a Chevrolet Equinox was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 150 between Henning Road and Interstate 74 when it hit an eastbound vehicle head on.
The driver of the vehicle that was hit was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Equinox was airlifted to an area hospital.
The Vermilion County Coroner's Office will handle the autopsy and will notify relatives of the deceased driver.
