A MEDICAL emergency  resulted in a local pub being crowded by a significant emergency services presence on Friday. 

According to reports on social media, the White Hart Hotel in Pontypool was "flooded" with police, ambulance personnel and forensics at around lunchtime on Friday, May 30. 

It was later confirmed by the force that a reported medical emergency at an address on George Street in Pontypool, the same road as the pub, had resulted in the presence of officers. 

It was also confirmed that personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service were in attendance, as of around 1.30pm on Friday. 

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said at the time: "We received a report of a medical emergency at an address in George Street, Pontypool, at around 9.30am on Friday 30 May.

"Officers are in attendance along with the Welsh Ambulance Service."
