PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — Police Chief Jason O’Malley retired from the city of Pflugerville Thursday, the city announced. Chief O'Malley had worked as police chief for nearly 5 years with a combined law enforcement career spanning over 25 years.
Chief O’Malley served as a Commander in the Pflugerville Police Department from July 7th, 2020 until September 14th, 2021, which is when he was appointed as Police Chief.

According to the Pflugerville Public Information Office, there is currently an ongoing administrative investigation that the Police Chief is named in. There is minimal information known on this as the city does not comment on active investigations.
The Public Information Office stated that they will begin a selection process which will bring the next Police Chief into the community.
At this time, the current acting Police Chief is Lieutenant Chet Vronka.
