Detectives appeal to find masked male after shop torched in Malvern arson attack

Detectives investigating an arson attack at a former Worcestershire shop have issued images of a masked male they would like to identify.

The former Fountain Stores, located in Court Road, Malvern, was torched in the early hours of Friday, May 30.


Luckily, no-one was injured when the blaze ripped through the disused building.

West Mercia Police today issued images of a masked male that officers would like to speak to following the incident.

They believe he may be able to help with their enquiries.

A force spokesperson said: "Officers are releasing images of a person they believe could help with their enquiries into an arson in Malvern on Friday.

"Emergency services responded to a report of a fire around 4am at The Fountain Stores on Court Road.


"Thankfully nobody was injured."

PC David Olczak added: “This person was seen in the area later in the afternoon on Friday and we believe he could help with our enquiries into the fire.

“Although his face is covered, the clothing is distinctive, and I hope somebody may recognise and be able to identify them.

“I continue to appeal to the public to check doorbell and dashcam footage from Friday as it may have captured this person without a face covering”.
