A boat owner and three fishermen whose engines were stolen at Port Mourant, Region Six on Sunday are requesting help to have their items recovered.
Umesh Chootoo, a 30-year-old boat owner of Lot 1 Recess, Rose Hall town told Stabroek News yesterday that he usually hires workmen to work his boat and now, they can’t work because the engine is gone. Three fishermen whose engines were also stolen cannot work.
In addition to their engines, a gas bottle, a container with gasoline, a water pump, groceries and other items were taken.
Up to yesterday morning, Chootoo relayed that he and the three fishermen were at the Whim Police Station waiting for the police to review cameras in the area to identify who took the engines. For now, the boat owner said that the information they received so far is, “somebody go with a car and used the car to put the engine in.”
