Rhode island man, 60, dies of injuries suffered in Bellingham crash; driver charged

A bicyclist who was involved in a serious crash on Monday, June 9, involving a car in Bellingham has died, police said.
The 60-year-old Woonsocket, Rhode Island, man, was taken to Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket after the 12:44 p.m. crash, where he was later declared dead, according to a Bellingham Police Department release.
The man's name has not been released.
The driver, a juvenile from Sutton, has been charged with motor vehicle homicide and driving to endanger. He was also cited for failing to move over for a bicyclist and a marked-lanes violation. The juvenile was not identified due to his age.
According to the press release, the crash occurred near 120 South Main St. (Route 126). The police and fire departments responded after several 911 calls reporting the crash.
The bicyclist suffered “critical injuries.” The juvenile remained on scene and was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center to be treated.
The crash is being investigated by the Bellingham Police Department, the Central Law Enforcement Council and the Worcester District Attorney’s Office.
The juvenile will be summoned to appear in juvenile court at an unknown date. Juvenile court proceedings and their results are not public.
