Honolulu police arrested a 44-year-old man this afternoon who is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel. He allegedly pushed a 31-year-old woman into a stall and tried to sexually assault her.
WAIKIKI, Hawaii (Island News) -- Honolulu police arrested a 44-year-old man Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of sexually assaulting a woman in a Waikiki hotel restroom.
The Honolulu Police Department reports this happened at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Hotel at around 3:30 p.m. on June 10.
On Facebook, HPD reported the suspect allegedly pushed a 31-year-old woman into a stall and tried to sexually assault her. The victim screamed and the suspect ran off.
Officers later arrested the man on suspicion of sexual assault in the first degree and kidnapping. He has not been charged at this time.
The woman was treated for injuries at the scene and later released.
According to court records, the suspect was convicted of sexually assaulting a minor back in 2010. He later failed to register as a sex offender.
