Warsaw High School’s celebratory Awards Night on May 14 provided a glimpse of the Class of 2025’s diverse interests and accomplishments during their high school careers. A number of organizations and schools rewarded their tremendous perseverance and industry academically and in service to their communities.
Seniors who were members of the Society for Academic Achievement were recognized: Skylar Althide, Danielle Beeler, Kaylee Blunier, Renee Blunier, Isabel Brown, Delaney Brunenn, Montanna Devine, Cole Fortado, Landon Gallaher, Keaton Harl, Ray Hughes, Kai Humphry, Noah Hutson, Gabrielle Jackson, Oliver Koechle, Lydia Kyle, Lakinn Larson, Trinity Leffler, Addison Markey, Chloee McLaughlin, Kiera Moore, Logan Mulch, Sarah Peterson, Haley Pilkington, Kaitlyn Short, Michael Shurtleff, Lewis Siegfried, Ashlynn Sparrow, Susanna Stout and Bryce Varner.
Delaney Brunenn, Ray Hughes, Lydia Kyle, Lakinn Larson, Kiera Moore, Logan Mulch, Michael Shurtleff, Susanna Stout and Bryce Varner were also recognized as Illinois State Scholars, students who are at the top 10% of graduating seniors in Illinois.
Members of the Class of 2025 earned these scholarships:
- Delaney Brunenn and Kai Humphry received the Olen L. Memorial Scholarship.
- Lakinn Larson and Truman Phillips received the Robert Gerhardt Memorial Scholarship, established by Cheryl Gerhardt, a retired Warsaw Elementary School teacher, and her family, to honor her husband.
- Isabel Brown and Alexa Boyer were awarded scholarships by the Warsaw Spunky Point Seniors.
- Danielle Beeler was awarded the Culver-Stockton College Pillar Honors Scholarship, the Culver-Stockton College Impact Scholarship, and the Culver-Stockton College President’s Scholarship.
- Logan Mulch received the Bella Hanlin Scholarship from Carter’s Coffee Bar.
- Danielle Beeler, Kaylee Blunier, Isabel Brown, Oriana Casey, Montana Devine, Haley Pilkington, Lilianna Rea, Alivia Rose, Laynee Sedore and Bryce Varner received the Edna Mae Miller and Mable J. Morris Scholarship.
- Wesley Hester was awarded the Derek Weatherington Scholarship.
- The Lawton Endowment Fund Scholarship was awarded to Danielle Beeler, Delaney Brunenn, Logan Mulch, Haley Pilkington, Lilianna Rea and Bryce Varner.
- Lewis Siegfried received the Carl Sandburg Community College Martha and Wilbur Capps Memorial Endowment, the Carl Sandburg Community College Minich and Fagan Memorial Scholarship, and the Carl Sandburg Community College Doris Plumb Endowment.
- Noah Hutson was awarded the Vietnam Veterans Local 947 Scholarship.
- The Warsaw High School FFA awarded its scholarship to Isabel Brown.
- The Warsaw Alumni Association awarded its scholarship to Danielle Beeler.
- Danielle Beeler and Alivia Rose were awarded Warsaw 4-H Scholarships.
- Danielle Beeler, Isabel Brown, Montanna Devine, Keaton Harl, Lakinn Larson, Alivia Rose and Braxton Scott were awarded Donald Bumphry Memorial Scholarships.
- Isabel Brown received a Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) Scholarship. The PEO is an international, United States-based women’s organization founded on Jan. 21, 1869, by seven Iowa Wesleyan students, and is headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. PEO’s mission is to provide educational opportunities for women worldwide.
- Delaney Brunenn, Kiera Moore, Logan Mulch and Haley Pilkington were awarded Warsaw Lions Club Scholarships.
- The DA22 Scholarship, in memory of Darrell Althide, was awarded to Delaney Brunenn.
- The Rise Above Scholarship was awarded to Skylar Althide and Keaton Harl.
- Gavin Grothaus received the Heart of a Titan Scholarship.
- Lakinn Larson received the Titan Pride Scholarship.
- The Omni Energy Partners awarded their scholarship to Lewis Siegfried.
- The American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship was awarded to Lakinn Larson.
- Delaney Brunenn was awarded the Hancock County Teen Court Scholarship.
- The Hancock County Republican Central Committee awarded their scholarship to Gavin Grothaus.
- Keaton Harl won the scholarship given by the Hancock County Farm Bureau Trade.
- Danielle Beeler, Haydn McMillen and Alivia Rose were awarded Hancock County Beef Producers Scholarships.
- The scholarship given by Memorial Hospital and the Hancock County Health Improvement Association was awarded to Danielle Beeler.
- Renee Blunier was awarded the scholarship given by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Auxiliary Ch., Il 24-4A.
- Kaitlyn Short won the scholarship given by the Black Hawk Masonic Lodge.
- Danielle Beeler and Haley Pilkington received the Della and Reva Arnold Memorial Scholarship.
- The Berlin Wisch Scholarship was awarded to Delaney Brunenn, Oriana Casey, Grayson Conkright, Ray Hughes and Kaitlyn Short.
- Oliver Koechle won the Iowa State Penitentiary Scholarship.
- Todd “Bubba” Dicks Scholarships, given in honor of a beloved Warsaw firefighter who died in the line of duty, were awarded to Danielle Beeler, Delaney Brunenn, Oriana Casey, Montana Devine, Byron DiPrima, Gavin Grothaus, Keaton Harl, Lakinn Larson, Haydn McMillen, Logan Mulch, Truman Phillips and Laynee Sedore.
- Gavin Grothaus and Haydn McMillen were awarded George Parker VFW Scholarships.
- Ray Hughes won the Warsaw High School Business Award.
- Delaney Brunenn won the Sons of the American Revolution Award. Lakinn Larson won the Daughters of the American Revolution Award.
- Renee Blunier received the Hancock County Democratic Women Scholarship.
- Haley Pilkington and Logan Mulch received scholarships given by the Keokuk Area Community Foundation.
- Renee Blunier was awarded the scholarship given by the Great River Players.
- The Dr. Korte Scholarship was awarded to Haley Pilkington and Laynee Sedore.
- Haydn McMillen was awarded the scholarship given by the Carthage Eagles 3517 Auxiliary.
- The South Side Boat Club awarded its scholarship to Bryce Varner.
- Lakinn Larson won the IEA Scholarship.
- Danielle Beeler and Truman Phillips won scholarships from Ursa Farmers Co-op.
- Oliver Koechle won the Southeastern Community College Foundation Excellence Award.
- Kaitlyn Short was awarded the Iowa State University Seeley G. and Helen Barbre Lodwick Endowed Scholarship and the Iowa State University State Grant.
- The Illinois State University Red Bird Academic Scholarship was awarded to Skylar Althide.
- Byron DiPrima won the Indian Hills Community College Trap Shooting Scholarship.
- Grayson Conkright was awarded the John Wood Community College Athletic Scholarship.
- Lakinn Larson, Gavin Grothaus and Lewis Siegfried were awarded Carl Sandburg Community College Athletic Scholarships.
- Logan Mulch received Webster University’s Webster Gold Academic Scholarship.
- The University of Illinois President’s Award Program Scholarship was awarded to Noah Hutson.
- Kaylee Blunier, Renee Blunier, Ray Hughes and Tucker Koltzenburg received AIM High Western Commitment scholarships.
- Kaylee Blunier, Renee Blunier, Ray Hughes and Tucker Koltzenburg received Western Illinois University Music Scholarships.
- Bryce Varner was awarded the Monmouth College Highlander Honor Scholarship.
- Addison Markey, Kiera Moore, Haley Pilkington, Lilliana Rea, Ashlynn Sparrow and Gracie Watkins received scholarships from Quincy University.
- Delaney Brunenn was awarded the Presidential Scholarship from Drake University.
