2 teens charged, accused of attempting to rob food delivery driver

 

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Columbia Police say two teens are charged, and accused of an attempted armed robbery of a food delivery driver.

Police say the teens tried to rob the delivery driver at North Pointe Estates off 100 Ripplemeyer Avenue on Thursday afternoon, June 12.

Police say the teens claimed they ordered and paid for the food when the driver arrived.

The driver checked and determined they did not pay.

Police say video surveillance shows that when the driver tried to leave, the 13-year-old  stood in front of the vehicle.

And the 14-year-old was banging on the window with a gun as the victim drove away.

The delivery driver and three relatives including two kids who were in the vehicle weren’t hurt.

Both teens are being held at the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (SCDJJ).
