Montana, North Dakota Attorneys General back Trump’s decision on sending National Guard to Los Angeles

WASHINGTON (KFYR) - Republican Attorneys General, including Montana’s Austin Knudsen and North Dakota’s Drew Wrigley, say they support President Donald Trump’s decision to send National Guard members to Los Angeles.
While California’s leaders call it unconstitutional to order troops without Governor Gavin Newsom’s authority, the Attorneys General (AGs) argue the situation is anything but peaceful.
“We will always defend the right to peacefully protest, but there’s nothing peaceful about arson, assault, and anarchy. If you set police cars on fire, throw Molotov cocktails at law enforcement, and loot businesses, you must be held accountable. In California, we’re seeing the results of leadership that excuses lawlessness and undermines law enforcement. When local and state officials won’t act, the federal government must. We stand with law enforcement, we support President Trump’s action, and we will not let chaos take hold in our states,” the AGs wrote.
A court fight is expected between California and the federal government over the president’s action.
