Man injured after driving into floodwaters during police chase in Crawford County

A Mount Vernon man was injured when he drove into floodwaters during a police chase in Crawford County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's online crash report states that it happened Friday at 10:32 p.m. on Edgar Road, east of Crooked Creek Road.

The report states that Douglas Marshall, 51, was fleeing from deputies when he drove his car onto a flooded road.

The car went off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

He was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Careless and Imprudent Driving, Failure to Drive on the Right Side of the Roadway - Resulting in an Accident, No Insurance, No Seatbelt, and Failure to Display Valid Plates.

Ambulance crews took him to Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla with serious injuries.
