6-year-old girl died in Budapest: she probably suffered a seizure
According to Bors, a Hungarian tabloid, an unbelievable tragedy took place yesterday early afternoon at Budapest’s famous Palatinus Beach on Margaret Island. A 6-year-old girl and her mother arrived at the beach with others. The girl changed into swimwear while her mother remained in regular clothes and sat on the edge of the kids’ pool. According to eyewitnesses, she was dangling her feet in the water while looking at something on her phone as her child joyfully jumped into the pool. Tragically, the child ultimately drowned.
The little girl is believed to have suffered a seizure. Therefore, an adult pulled her out of the pool and laid her on the stone surface to begin providing professional aid. They also notified the ambulance immediately. Based on the information of Bors, a rescue helicopter arrived shortly afterwards to take her to the hospital, but they could not save the child’s life.

Many people tried to help
An eyewitness who talked to Bors about the tragedy said that seeing the events unfold, she felt as if she were losing her mind. Multiple people gathered around the girl lying on the stone and tried to help her until the ambulance got there. The medics tried to save her life for at least two hours. They even used a defibrillator, but unfortunately, it was all in vain.
The child’s mother could not comprehend what happened, supposedly because of the shock. Based on Bors’s information, the little girl and her mother were residents of a social institution in Budapest.
Bors did not share whether the Hungarian police were investigating the mother’s responsibility in the child’s tragic death.
