SPOKANE, Wash. - A house fire near Airway Heights has displaced a family, according to Spokane County Fire District 10.
No one was injured in the fire, which started at the front of the home, said officials from District 10. The homeowner credited fire alarms and their barking dog for waking them up around 2:30 a.m.
The homeowner quickly evacuated his wife and two children after spotting the flames.
Fire District 10 emphasized the importance of keeping doors closed at night, as it helps prevent smoke from entering bedrooms and slows the spread of fire.
Investigators are currently on the scene, but the cause of the fire remains unknown.
