Firefighters battle blaze twice at Carroll County home

Firefighters battled two fires at the same house on Thursday, according to the Hillsville Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 600 block of Monorat Road for a report of a structure fire around 1:40 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they reported to find smoke showing from a two-story home.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire on the first floor.

Crews worked for over an hour to find any remaining hotspots. When everything was cleared, units went back to work.

However, later on, firefighters returned to the home and found more active fire.

Officials say the fire caused extensive damage to the home.

No other information was released.
