Missing boater in Southeast Iowa found

IOWA (WGEM) - The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Madison Fire Department confirmed on Monday that the body of the missing boater from an incident on Saturday has been located.
At 10:15 Monday morning, recovery efforts led to the discovery of the missing individual near the area of Wever, Iowa, along the Mississippi River.
The family has asked police not to release the person’s name at this time.
The recovery concludes a multi-agency search operation that began on the evening of June 21, following reports of a capsized boat.
Officials said the search was performed with drones, K9s, and boats.
The sheriff’s office stated no further information will be released at this time.
