Karate Kid villain Martin Kove booted out of fan event after 'assaulting female co-star'
Former Karate Kid antagonist Martin Kove caused a scene at a Washington State fan convention after he reportedly 'assaulted a female co-star' Alicia Hannah-Kim during the fan event
Former Karate Kid villain Martin Kove was kicked out of a Washington State fan convention after he allegedly "assaulted a female co-star" during the event.
Over the weekend, Puyallup Police Department officers were allegedly forced to intervene after the 78-year-old actor aggressively bit his Cobra Kai co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim and nearly drew blood. After she cried out in pain from the assault, Martin reportedly then kissed her arm, according to reports by TMZ.
Alicia claimed that Martin bit her "completely unprovoked" and left "very noticeable bite mark on her arm that was already turning blue and bruising," according to the police report. Alicia went on to claim that Martin "was furious and outraged and visibly angry when I told him calmly not to bite me...he insisted he bit me for fun."
When Alicia and her husband Sebastian Roche confronted Martin over the assault, Alicia claimed that he "exploded on them." According to the police report, Martin insisted that “he did not do anything wrong" despite her visible injuries.
While his co-star decided to not press charges against Martin, she did request an informational report be taken after the bizarre encounter. After the report was complete, Martin reportedly apologized to Alicia and her husband and was then asked to leave Washington State Summer Con.
Ahead of the incident, the co-stars took the screen together on the hit Netflix drama series Cobra Kai. In the six-season-long show, Martin reprised his role of the vicious and unhinged Vietnam War veteran John Kreese. As for Alicia, she starred as the character Kim Da-Eun, who is an aggressive and skilled martial artist.
According to IMDb, the synopsis of Cobra Kai reads: "Decades after their 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament bout, a middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence find themselves martial-arts rivals again."
Ahead of his appearance in Cobra Kai, Martin previously starred as the antagonist in The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II, and The Karate Kid Part III. Martin has had a long, successful career in Hollywood that has spanned three decades.
Over the years, Martin has starred in a number of television shows including Texas Ranger, Kung Fu, Chips, The Rockford Files, The Streets of San Francisco, and Murder, She Wrote, Charlie’s Angels, Burke’s Law, among many others. Martin has also made up to 80 film appearances including roles in Queen of the Ring, Joker's Wild, Tapped Out, Six Gun Savior, Carmen's Kiss, Life Zone, and more.
