      The city of South Portland said the Casco Bay Bridge was stuck open for about 15 to 20 minutes Wednesday afternoon, which prevented traffic from going northbound into Portland.In a public notice issued at 4:15 p.m., city officials warned drivers to expect significant traffic on and around the bridge.South Portland officials said they did not initially when the issue keeping the bridge struck open will be resolved.Shortly before 4:30 p.m., the South Portland Police Department announced that the issue had been fixed.The city confirmed the bridge was functioning at 4:35 p.m., and that the heat likely caused it to get stuck.Officials said traffic was still heavy and that it will take a while to clear.>>Click here to get current traffic conditions where you are.
