The Warsaw Police Department is asking for public assistance in identifying suspects involved in a larceny that occurred at the Best Mart near Jersey Mike’s on Sunday afternoon, according to WPD.

The suspects entered the store and attempted to use a YouTube gift card as payment for lottery tickets, the store staff says. The suspects reached over the counter, grabbed multiple lottery tickets, and fled the store on foot, after being told that it was not an acceptable form of payment. They were seen running toward Jersey Mike’s, and fled the scene by jumping into the backseat of a waiting vehicle, WPD says.

These suspects are believed to be involved in similar thefts from gas stations in neighboring towns, making this a multi-agency investigation. WPD says these suspects are reportedly traveling to other locations to cash the stolen tickets in.

The North Carolina Education Lottery Commission has been notified and is actively investigating the matter alongside law enforcement, per a release.
